Untitled (Nostalgia)

This sculpture is a jar filled with chocolate Teddy Grahams with all the heads bitten off by me. There is this recurring image from my childhood, in which I tear off the wings of a cicada, so that it won’t fly away and will stay on my t-shirt. Everyone has done something similar, something a bit brutal. The memories of one’s innocent childhood can be suffocating, the days that seemed to go on forever.
